Coming Soon! Khalid’s ‘Suncity’ EP Arrives This Week
Khalid is preparing to launch a new era with the release of his forthcoming EP, Suncity. On Friday (October 12), the “Location” hitmaker took to social media to announce the project and its looming, October 19 release date. He also unveiled the official cover, which sees him serving a contemplative pose in front a brick house. Local publications were quick to note that the house was located in El Paso, Texas, the 20-year-old’s hometown. The tribute follows him shouting out the city while accepting an award at the 2018 American Music Awards last week. He also showed even more love on the cover of his current single, “Better.” Since making the announcement, the rising star has been counting down the days to this Friday on Instagram.
Although we don’t know much about the EP’s tracklist just yet, it seems safe to assume that “Better” will land on the collection. In just over a month, the anthem has amassed more than 72 million streams on Spotify and is shaping up to be something of a serious hit. Hopefully Khalid will land another “Love Lies”-sized smash with the moody bop. He and Normani rode their slinky collaboration into the Top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 and climbed to the top of the Top 40 radio chart last month. Suncity will cap off a busy year for the singer who has graced us with a slew of collabs including his Billie Eilish duet “Lovely” and the Halsey and Benny Blanco-assisted “Eastside.”
Surely Suncity will yield even more quality material. While we wait for it to arrive, check out the full cover and his official announcement below!
