This Is Not A Drill! Mariah Carey Announces 15th LP, ‘Caution’
Dab on some Luscious Pink, light a scented candle and pop Glitter in the DVD player. Mariah Carey is releasing a new album called Caution on November 16, and it’s time to celebrate! The 18-time chart-topper (“not everybody has that to their credit”) made the announcement via a cute video, which she posted on her holy social media accounts. In it, Mimi elegantly descends a staircase — in an evening gown, of course — and announces the album title. She then asks adorable son, Moroccan, to reveal the release date.
I have high hopes for MC15. As any Lamb worth their copy of Charmbracelet can attest, we really went through it with Me. I Am Mariah… The Elusive Chanteuse. The music was flawless (justice for “Faded”), but it was plagued by the most confusing rollout in recent memory. At one point it was going to be a surprise album and then it was delayed for months, before being randomly dropped with no promo. Happily, Mimi has a new team and label, and things are going very smoothly. “GTFO” caught everyone’s attention and now “With You” is getting a proper push.
If radio decides to play along, this could be the legendary diva’s most successful era in years. It seems the stars have really aligned for our beloved queen. See Mariah’s glamorous announcement below.
