MØ & Diplo's 'Sun In Our Eyes' Video
MØ and Diplo set sail in their 'Peter Pan'-inspired 'Sun In Our Eyes' video.

MØ’s sophomore LP, Forever Neverland, drops on Friday (October 19) and I’m already convinced that it’s going to be one of the year’s best albums. The proof is in the breathtakingly good buzz tracks and superb singles. “Sun In Our Eyes,” a bittersweet bop produced by Diplo, deserved to be number one for months, while “Imaginary Friend” is the quirkiest, catchiest bedroom anthem to infiltrate my ears in a long time. When you throw in the very-good “Way Down” and just-released “Blur,” and you have one hell of an album on your hands.

After concentrating on electro-pop of late, “Blur” is a return to the alt-leaning sound of 2017’s When I Was Young EP. It has the warm fuzz of ’90s indie-rock with the instantly catchy chorus and pop hooks that MØ has perfected. “Let me out, I’m lost in the words,” Denmark’s best musical export sings on the chorus. “Don’t know how I ended here, trapped in a blur.” It turns out that the song was inspired by exhaustion and creative stagnation. “Living this life with all this glamour… but sometimes you just feel drained,” she told Zane Lowe on Beats 1.

“This song was almost therapeutic, like writing a song where you actually sing about being a little bit creatively lost, like pathless,” MØ continues. “It was really nice. I love those songs where you’re just reflecting on exactly how you feel in the moment that you do it.” Listen to “Blur” below and pre-order Forever Neverland here.
