Cardi B has enjoyed a historic run on the charts since dropping her breakout single last year. After topping the Billboard Hot 100 with “Bodak Yellow” she returned to the pinnacle twice more with her Bad Bunny and J Balvin-assisted “I Like It” and her Maroon 5 collab “Girls Like You.” Today (October 23), the 26-year-old dropped what could very well be her next smash hit, “Money.” The record-breaking rapper first announced the release last week in a since-deleted post on Instagram. Yesterday she confirmed the news and shared the official single cover, which sees her dripping in gold jewelry. “MY SINGLE ‘MONEY’ WILL BE OUT THIS THURSDAY 12:30pm,” she wrote. However, in a surprise twist, the anthem arrived early. Considering its title and cover, it is hardly surprising that it is a braggadocios banger.

“I was born to flex (yes). Diamonds on my neck. I like boarding jets. I like morning sex (woo),” she raps over a sparse beat on the chorus. “But nothing in this world that I like more than checks. All I really wanna see is the money.” Once again, Cardi has another straightforward bop on her hands that is bound to be stuck in your head after a listen or two. And in a cute move, the new mother fits in a tribute to her daughter Kulture toward the back-end of the track. The only thing that is unclear is if “Money” will serve as the lead single to a new project of if it is a one-off. Perhaps she is gearing up to re-release her debut LP, Invasion Of Privacy? Either way, it is safe to expect that it will fly up the charts in the coming months. Press play on the anthem below.
