Marina & Luis Fonsi Enjoy One Last Dance On Clean Bandit’s “Baby”

It has truly been an exceptional week for pop music fans. We have already been blessed with breathtakingly good releases from the likes of Allie X, Carly Rae Jepsen and Little Mix. But that is just the tip of the iceberg. Today (November 2), Clean Bandit joined the New Music Friday fray with their new single, “Baby.” A collaboration with Marina (formerly Marina And The Diamonds) and Luis Fonsi, it will land on the trio’s forthcoming What Is Love? LP. The track was destined to be massive based solely on their collective star power. And it sounds like the “Solo” hitmakers may have yet another chart topper on their hands.

Over a trance-inducing production, former lovers Marina and Luis come together for one last encounter. “Don’t know how I ever let you go. I was young, didn’t know about love. You were wild, couldn’t get enough,” the Welsh pop star mourns. “Find me in another place and time. If only, if only you were mine. But I’m already someone else’s baby.” The Latin-inspired instrumental distinguishes “Baby” from the material we have already heard off What Is Love? (out November 30). But I wouldn’t be surprised if it is yet another meteoric success. All five previous singles from the album have gone Top 10 in the UK, and it goes without saying that the group is on a serious hot streak.
