Lauren Sanderson unleashes a raw and gritty video for 'The Only One.'

Lauren Sanderson’s debut major-label project dropped in August, cementing her status as one of 2018’s breakout stars. Don’t Panic deftly showcases the 22-year-old’s hybrid sound (equal parts hip-hop and pop) — particularly on undeniable bangers like “The Only One” and “Shut Em Up.” The video for the latter arrives today (November 2) and it’s a perfect introduction to the newcomer’s bold visual style. In it, she rebels against controlling forces and relaxes in a mansion with her girl.

There’s also something a little psychedelic going on, because things get rather trippy by the end. “When you feel like the world is against you and no one understands, remind those motherfuckers who’s boss and do it your way,” Lauren says of the video. Her way sure looks like a lot of fun. The singer/rapper first found fame in 2017 when her self-released Spaces EP topped iTunes’ R&B Albums Chart. She also managed to book an 18-city tour of North America without the assistance of a label. Not a bad way to get everyone’s attention.

We’re excited to premiere Lauren’s ballsy “Shut Em Up” video below.
