Disco Balls & Pink Hair: Cardi B Spices Up El Alfa’s “Mi Mami” Video
Cardi B’s hot streak shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon. The 26-year-old still reigns supreme at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 with her feature on Maroon 5’s “Girls Like You.” Meanwhile, her current single, “Money,” amassed more than 16 million streams on Spotify and debuted just outside the Top 50 on the chart. And she is already gearing up for another global smash. Friday (November 2), she graced us with yet another bop. Teaming up with Dominican hitmaker El Alfa, the pair dropped their joint single, “Mi Mami.” Boasting a slinky production, the Spanish-language anthem has all the makings to become her latest hit. The duo also brought the bop to life in a predictably striking video.
In it, the new mother shows off some pink hair and flaunts her svelte body in a series eye-popping looks. Posing under pastel-pink lighting, she is contrasted by her collaborator who chills on the opposite side of the set. They also come together in front of a popcorn tub filled with disco balls to sing along to the catchy single. The end result is a fun must-see. Unsurprisingly, the video has become something of a viral hit. Since premiering Friday it has been viewed more than 5 million times on YouTube.
