Imagine Dragons Announce 'Origins'
The rock band reveals the title and release date of 4th LP, 'Origins.'

Imagine Dragons’ Origins LP (due November 9) is shaping up to be the rock band’s most eclectic yet. “When we create, we create with no boundaries, no rules,” frontman Dan Reynolds revealed in the album trailer. “We find it thrilling to make music that feels different and new to us.” That has certainly been reflected in the diversity of singles and buzz tracks, which include the hard rock of “Machine” and ’80s pop moment, “Zero.” The las Vegas four-piece switches it up again on “Bad Liar” — a raw, stripped-back breakup anthem.

Believe it or not, Dan wrote “Bad Liar” with his wife Aja Volkman when they were contemplating breaking up. “I went through a divorce, but we never signed the papers,” he told Zane Lowe on Beats 1. “I’ve been home and we kind of decided, well, let’s just hold off for a minute.” The hitmaker then explained how the song came together. “As we were writing it, we knew what it was about, but we also kind of didn’t speak about what it was about,” he says of the (surely) awkward writing session.
