Steve Aoki Recruits BTS, Lauren Jauregui, Louis Tomlinson & More For ‘Neon Future III’

Steve Aoki isn’t playing any games with his new album, Neon Future III. The super producer rolled out the collection today (November 9), and it features collaborations with some of the industry’s biggest names and brightest rising stars. Comprised of an impressive 17 tracks, we are already familiar with plenty of the content. The Louis Tomlinson-assisted “Just Hold On” appears near the front of the LP. After roaring to the number two spot on the charts in the UK in 2016, the hopeful single is as good as ever before. Thus far it has been the most commercially successful track of the era.

However, we have been graced with several other bops. Lauren Jauregui’s electro-kissed “All Night” made the final tracklist. And K-Pop legends BTS contributed “Waste It On Me” last month. The project’s latest single is the group’s first all-English track, and it leaves a lasting impression. After amassing more than 25 million streams on Spotify, it premiered on the Billboard Hot 100. With a video coming in the near future, it could easily become a global sensation. It also has the distinction of being one of the best songs on the album.

Other highlights include a collaboration with Lady Antebellum on “Our Love Glows.” The country legends show off a different side of their musicality on the shimmery club anthem. “No matter where we are, we’re gonna leave our mark. It only takes a spark cause our love it glows in the dark,” Hillary Scott sings on the lovestruck should-be single. Meanwhile Bella Thorne lands a lusty smash with “Do Not Disturb.” After her foray into rap bangers including “Bitch I’m Bella Thorne,” she heads straight to a hotel room over tight electronica. That’s not all though.

Era Istrefi lends her voice to the breezy “Anything More.” The carefree track is another fun highlight. Steve welcomes AJR and Lil Yachty on the equally infectious “Pretender.” Boasting a supersized break, it has plenty of replay factor. As does the Mike Posner-assisted “A Lover And A Memory.” Pleading for one more chance with a lover, the track boasts a danceable production and some of the most evocative lyrics. “Don’t do me dirty. Show me some mercy,” Mike pleads. “Darling, please lay down your weaponry. How did we end up somewhere between a lover and a memory?”
