Ellie Goulding has a growing hit on her hands with her comeback single, “Close To Me.” A tribute to her romantic partner in crime, it lovingly depicts their wild relationship. “So don’t let me down. Keep me in trouble. Born to be wild, out in the jungle,” she urges. “And I don’t wanna be somebody without your body close to me.” The infectious anthem has amassed nearly 22 million streams on Spotify in the last two weeks and has been prominently featured on several of the service’s pop playlists. It was enough to propel the “Love Me Like You Do” diva into the Top 40 in the UK, but so far she hasn’t impacted the Billboard Hot 100. Hopefully that changes today (November 14) with the unveiling of its official video.

Shot on location in Budapest, Hungary, it features gorgeous views and some equally chic looks. In it, the hitmaker poses and performs the track in front of a crew of dancers. The video operates well as a scenic glamour reel, but Ellie adds some additional drama toward the back half as her dancers try to keep her away from a loved one. She also features an appearance from Swae Lee. It seems like the Rae Sremmurd rapper was unable to make it to the main shoot, but he beams in to deliver his verse in front of some lush greenery. Meanwhile, super-producer Diplo appears to be totally absent. Hopefully the trio are able to get together for at least one performance in the near future. I’d love to see them all in action.

In the meantime, check out the visual feast that is the “Close To Me” video below!
