Justice For ‘Glitter!’ Mariah Carey’s Iconic Soundtrack Is Top 10 On iTunes

EDIT: The Glitter soundtrack has now climbed all the way to number one!

Beyoncé losing the Album Of The Year Grammy to Beck. Britney Spears’ Blackout album peaking at number two behind The Eagles. The bile that was spewed upon Mariah Carey’s misunderstood Glitter. Yes, I’m talking about the biggest pop music injustices of the 21st century. Happily, one of them has been rectified — at least, partially. The soundtrack to Mimi’s blockbuster acting debut is currently perched at number six on US iTunes. How did this happen? The living legend casually tweeted “#JusticeForGlitter” and the Lambs sprung into action.

While this warms my heart, the job isn’t done. I need the Lambily to raise the movie’s IMDb rating and hire a Russian hacker to remove Mariah’s name from the Razzie database. The Glitter soundtrack also deserves a retrospective Oscar and Grammy for delivering vocals, disco beats, unexpected features, iconic covers and endless bops. If you’re just discovering the album now, may I suggest you start with Mimi’s dazzling interpretation of Cherrelle’s “I Didn’t Mean To Turn You On” and the vocal master class that is “Reflections (Care Enough).”

You can download the Glitter soundtrack for the bargain price of $4.99 here. While you’re there, do the right thing and pre-order Caution. Check out the superstar’s tweets below.
