Girl Power is alive and well in 2018. If you needed any more evidence, Ariana Grande just stepped up to defend Little Mix after a series of misogynistic comments from Piers Morgan. The controversial television host and frequent tweeter started things out by posting a photo from the girl group’s “Strip” video and implying they stole the idea from The Dixie Chicks. This incited a passionate response from Ari’s mom, Joan Grande. “Honestly what is wrong with you @piersmorgan,” she tweeted. “Didn’t your mother ever teach you, if you have nothing nice to say, don’t say it!” He didn’t hesitate to reply. “I’d just prefer they use their talent to sell records rather than their nudity. As your own daughter does…!”

That is when the “God Is A Woman” princess decided to step in. “I use my talent AND my sexuality all the time because I choose to,” she wrote. “Women can be sexual AND talented. naked and dignified. it’s OUR choice.” Signing off with a “thank u, next,” it was a commendable clap back. But Ari wasn’t done. In a separate tweet she voiced her support directly to Little Mix. “Keep fighting the fight divas,” she tweeted the LM5 hitmakers. “your sisters have your back.” She went on to call out Piers’ hypocrisy by tweeting out a nude photo he posed for. “when u do it it’s ok tho right?” And that isn’t all.

“I look forward to the day you realize there are other ways to go about making yourself relevant than to criticize young, beautiful, successful women for everything they do,” she wrote. “i think that’ll be a beautiful thing for you and your career or what’s left of it.” Can we all take a moment to bow down to Queen Ari? Afterwards, she returned to regularly scheduled content. This included a couple more teasers from behind the scenes of her “thank u, next” video. Catch up on the full exchange below!
