Beyonce & Ed Sheeran Perform “Perfect Duet” Live For The First Time

Beyonce and Ed Sheeran got together for the first-ever live performance of “Perfect Duet.” The song, which was released just over a year ago, hit the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100. This was achieved off the back of strong streaming numbers and radio play. However, the pair never scheduled a joint performance. That changed yesterday (November 2), when they took the stage at Global Citizen Festival: Mandela 100. Unsurprisingly, it was a highlight of the event. Dressed in a stunning fuchsia gown, Bey served vocals. A stripped-back stage kept the focus on the superstar collaborators and the lovestruck lyrics. Simple but stunning, it left a lasting impression.

Audience footage reveals that fans passionately sang along during the heartfelt moment. Hopefully, they have a few more performances up their sleeves; I’d love to see the single get even more love. The Lemonade legend also claimed the stage with husband Jay-Z to close out the evening with a joint performance. Working their way through a paired-back version of their On The Run II Tour, they pulled out some of their biggest hits for their first set in South Africa. This year, the annual music festival honored the legacy of Nelson Mandela and the 100th anniversary of his birth. It featured additional performances from the likes of Pharrell, Kacey Musgraves and Usher.
