Christian Lalama's 'FrFr'
15-year-old Christian Lalama has a hit on his hands with the catchy 'FrFr.'

When it comes to new and interesting ways to achieve fame, The Backpack Kid (real name Russell Horning) is in a league of his own. The 16-year-old first caught attention with his “Floss” dance and eventually found his way into a Katy Perry’s “Swish Swish” video and SNL performance. The long-limbed teen is now hoping to leverage that notoriety and his 2 million Instagram followers to launch a music career. And he’s off to a decent start with “Drip On Boat.” This hip-hop/pop hybrid might be a little repetitive, but it sure is catchy.

“I’ve been wanting to release music for a few years now, but I’ve been so focused on the ‘floss’ that I haven’t been able to get around to it,” The Backpack Kid reveals. “The time has finally come and I can’t wait to share this new music with my supporters. The quality and production is on another level.” It will be interesting to see how “Drip On Boat” is received. It’s the first taste of his debut EP, SwagPack Kid, which is due in 2019.
