It appears Dinah Jane’s debut album is well on the way to completion. The Fifth Harmony member stayed in familiar territory on her effervescent single, “Bottled Up.” The anthem features a guest verse from Ty Dolla $ign, who helped 5H net their biggest hit to date with “Work From Home.” And it turns out the pair have perfect chemistry because their second collab is just as fierce. The “He Like That” diva showed out in the accompanying video, which amassed more than 7 million views. Delivering chic looks and slick choreographed moves, her star power is on full display. Last night (November 4), the rising star played the anthem during her first appearance on KIIS FM’s iHeartRadio Jingle Ball 2018. She also live-premiered two new songs – “Retrograde” and “I Don’t Mind.”

The former is rumored to be her next official single, and it sounds like a serious smash. Over a murky beat the hitmaker shows off her velvety vocals. “Run that back, retrograde,” she sings about a former lover she can’t get off her mind. Complete with a sexy break, this could very easily find love at radio with the right push. It’s also perfectly tailored for live performances as evidenced by the 21-year-old’s set last night. In comparison, “I Don’t Mind” is a little slinkier and feels more straightforward pop. The midtempo is another nice listen, and both songs jive with the sonic direction Dinah teased in a recent interview – “urban R&B … meets ’90s to 2000s.” They also have me increasingly more excited for a full-length album. Check out some fan-recorded footage from the performances below!
