With Christmas creeping closer by the day, it’s easy to get caught up in the rush of gift-giving and cookie eating. However, make sure you aren’t too busy to feast on a new year’s worth of holiday bops. Many of our favs have already been particularly generous. Katy Perry and Tiffany Young took risks with original carols – both are gems. Meanwhile, everyone from Meghan Trainor to Ally Brooke put a spin on the classics. America’s Got Talent winner Darci Lynne Farmer falls in the latter category. The 14-year-old singer-ventriloquist will host her first original TV special, Darci Lynne: My Hometown Christmas December 11. Today (December 7), she gets us in the mood with an updated take on “Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree.”

The rising star’s rendition stays true to the original. She delivers a pretty strong vocal over the sound of a cheering audience, making for a fun listen. Fans will get a chance to see her perform the timeless classic onstage during her hour-long special next week. Set in Oklahoma, Darci’s home-state, it boasts cameos from the likes of fellow Oklahoman Kristin Chenoweth and a cappella super-group Pentatonix. Others billed to make appearances include Toby Keith, Hunter Hayes, Lindsey Stirling and Farmer’s four puppets. That’s not all though. She is also traveling North America on a holiday tour. You can find ticket info here. In the meantime, get better acquainted with her cover below.
