New music from Katy Perry arrives this week! The 34-year-old has been relatively tight-lipped about a follow-up to last year’s Witness. While on tour she teased the possibility of working with Zedd and shared photos with Max Martin. Of course, this sparked excitement for a new era. However, she cautioned fans that she was considering taking a break between projects. On the bright side, the “Hey Hey Hey” diva has kept us on the line with a bevy of creative releases. Last month she unveiled a cover of “Waving Through A Window” off the Dear Evan Hansen soundtrack. She also put us in a festive mood with an original Christmas bop called “Cozy Little Christmas.” Yesterday (December 9), she confirmed her most innovative project yet – a collaboration with Final Fantasy Brave Exvius.

In one of the most exciting blends of pop and gaming culture in recent memory, Katy is set to appear as a character in the mobile game. That’s not all though. Even more thrilling is the news that she will commemorate the project with a song called “Immortal Flame.” The “Roar” chart-topper teased the anthem in a two-minute trailer over the weekend, and it sounds like a rousing power ballad. “Lightning strikes only once in your life. I guess I’m lucky ’cause I found myself in the line of fire tonight,” she coos over a growing production. As the track evolves, her voice grows even stronger. “Cause I want to live a thousand lives, and be your immortal flame,” she promises. We’ll get to hear the track in full Wednesday. In the meantime, get your first taste and check out the teaser below!
