ZAYN Reveals The Cover Of ‘Icarus Falls,’ Drops “There You Are”
Another day, another new song from ZAYN. The UK hitmaker unleashes “There You Are” as the umpteenth buzz track from Icarus Falls (due December 14) and it’s one of his best. A soaring ballad that showcases the 25-year-old’s underrated vocals, this is the kind of fist-in-the-air anthem that pop radio eats up. “Need you when I’m broken, when I’m fixed,” he sings in opening verse. “Need you when I’m well, when I’m sick.” The song really takes flight on the emotional chorus. “There you are, you’re there with open arms.”
“There You Are” is the handiwork of UK production duo MakeYouKnowLove and Levi Lennox (the same team that was behind “Pillowtalk”). They are but two of the multitude of producers that helped craft the former One Direction star’s 27-track Icarus Falls. Time will tell if this is a case of too many cooks — the buzz tracks have certainly been eclectic — or a stroke of genius.
