Miley Cyrus & Mark Ronson Put Their Spin On An Xmas Classic

Miley Cyrus and Mark Ronson are on track to become one of pop’s perfect pairs. The duo left our mouths on the floor with the unveiling of “Nothing Breaks Like A Heart” last month. This week the anthem made its debut on the Billboard Hot 100. Buoyed by strong streaming numbers, it landed at number 67 on the chart. And it will likely soar even higher in the coming weeks. The hitmakers are currently in the midst of a promo tour, which includes a high-profile appearance on Saturday Night Live over the weekend. They’ll mark the occasion with the first live performance of their second collab. Today (December 14), they rolled out a cover of John Lennon and Yoko Ono’s timeless “Happy Xmas (War Is Over).” Unsurprisingly, it’s another serious win.

First released in 1971, the holiday classic has been tackled by countless stars over the years. However, Miley and Mark’s take carries the stamp of approval from John and Yoko’s son, Sean Ono Lennon. The crooner even contributed vocals to the cover, adding some additional authenticity. During a stop on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the “Drive” diva opened up about working with Sean. “I mean, he’s just such an incredible being to be in the room with because that magic just radiates,” she said. “And I have always loved John and Yoko, I’m such a big Yoko fan, and so it’s just been amazing to work with him and his voice is just so special.”

Fans of the pair’s work together are in for a treat. It appears they also collaborated on music for the follow-up to last year’s Younger Now. We don’t know exactly when the album will drop. However, Miley promised she’d have something out next year. In the meantime, give their latest a listen below!
