The 25 Best Albums Of 2018
From 'Caution' to 'Bloom,' here's our list of the 25 best albums of 2018.

Christmas has come and gone, but the holiday celebrations are likely far from over for Mariah Carey. Once again, the not-so-elusive chanteuse has staked her claim as the Queen of Christmas with her seminal hit “All I Want For Christmas Is You.” Every year the classic enjoys a resurgence on the charts, and 2018 has been no exception. Over the last month, it has reached three new peaks on the Billboard Hot 100. It started by climbing up to number 7 before rising to number 6. That’s not a bad showing for a song originally released in 1994. But it was just a warm-up. Today (December 31), Billboard revealed that the song finally broke into the Top 3. The news comes after Mimi’s anthem destroyed Spotify’s one-day streaming record on Christmas Eve with more than 10.8 million global streams.

This combined with strong charting on iTunes and radio play was enough to push her to the number 3 spot. Per Billboard, it marks the first time a holiday song has cracked the Top 5 in 60 years. The last was “The Chipmunk Song” by David Seville & The Chipmunks, which topped the chart for four weeks in 1958. It also signifies the Caution icon’s first Top 3 hit since “Touch My Body” topped the chart in 2008. That’s not all though. Ariana Grande’s “thank u, next” remains at the top spot on the chart, with Halsey’s “Without Me” standing strong at number 2. This is the first time women have occupied all three spots in the Top 3 since November of 2014. Talk about a good week for girl power and a tribute to “AIWFCIY”‘s enduring influence.

Hopefully next year the living legend is able to earn her well-deserved 19th #1. In the meantime, revisit Mimi’s iconic video below!
