“Satisfaction” Is ZAYN’s Best Video Since “Pillowtalk”

To say that sales for ZAYN’s sophomore LP Icarus Falls were disappointing is a bit of an understatement. After one of the lengthiest roll-outs in recent memory, the 27-song album finally premiered last month. Although it was met with warm reviews, it failed to make much of an impact on the charts. After topping the Billboard 200 with Mind Of Mine in 2016, his latest effort only hit number 61. It did even worse in the UK, peaking at number 77. Part of that could be attributed to the release schedule and underperforming singles that preceded the album. They were a bit of a mixed bag and made it hard to get a true sense of its sonic direction. Hopefully things pick up now that the 25-year-old is turning his attention to “Satisfaction.”

The anthem emerged as a clear highlight on the tracklist, and it deserves plenty of love. Today (January 9), ZAYN brought it to life with an official video. Directed by Bouha Kazmi, he only makes a brief appearance in the release. Instead, most of the attention is dedicated to a romance that unfolds in the middle of an ongoing war. Incredibly powerful and well-shot, it is easily one of his best to date. It also opens with a quote that references back to his debut album – “Until the flower of this love has blossomed this heart won’t be at peace.”

The words first appeared on “Flower,” an intermission that was delivered in Urdu. Watch the quote come to life in the must-see video below!
