A Bop! Lauren Jauregui Plays The Temptress On The Slinky “More Than That”

Lauren Jauregui showcases her full potential on “More Than That.” The 22-year-old laid the groundwork for her solo career with the unveiling of “Expectations” last year. On her debut single, the rising star moved away from the bright pop beats that defined her time with Fifth Harmony. Instead of rehashing some of the group’s biggest hits, she explored a more soulful sound that highlighted her velvety vocals. The end result was a captivating tribute to a relationship at the breaking point. With more than 16 million streams on Spotify, it performed well. However, it didn’t gather enough momentum to break onto the Billboard Hot 100. That shouldn’t be the case with her second release. This time around the diva finds the sweet spot with a darkly seductive banger.

Over a production courtesy of Murda Beatz and Charlie Handsome, she toys with her admirers on the dance floor. “I know I ain’t right for tempting you. But I just wanna see what you would do if I gave you a taste of what I do. Just remember that I don’t belong to you,” Lauren teases over sensual beats. Moving into the chorus, she delivers something of a challenge. “You gon’ have to come stronger than this liquor. Wanna take me home, better be more convincing. It’ll take more than that to get to me.” From the glorious cover – a literal work of art – to the beguiling production, everything is coming together to suggest this may be one of 2019’s first true hits.

Hopefully there are plans to drop a video in the near future. With a viral visual and some promotional performances, there’s no telling how high this could soar. Press play on “More Than That” below!
