Bop On The Way: Ariana Grande Shares A Snippet Of “7 Rings”
In just over 24 hours we’ll be listening to the final version of Ariana Grande’s “7 Rings” on repeat. The heavily teased ode to friendship is one of our most anticipated contributions to this week’s New Music Friday. However, you’re in luck if the suspense is getting to be too much. The Grammy nominee has been peppering social media with teasers from the single’s pink-hued video for days on end. But today (January 16), she took to her Instagram story to play a snippet of the track for her patiently waiting fans. Based on the incredible hot streak she’s been on lately, it should hardly surprise you that it sounds like a serious bop is on the way.
Over a sparse production, the “God Is A Woman” hitmaker drops some braggadocios lines. “I got my receipts, be lookin’ like phone numbers. If it ain’t money, then wrong number. Black card is my business card, the way it be settin’ the tone for me,” she announces. “I don’t mean to brag, but I be like ‘put it in the bag,’ yeah. When you see them racks, they stacked up like my ass, yeah.” Sonically, it seems more in line with “imagine” than the chart-topping “thank u, next.” It will be interesting to see if this is setting the tone for her forthcoming album, or if the collection will be more eclectic. Either way, it is safe to assume Ari has another chart-dominating smash on her hands.
That’s not all! Taking to Twitter, Ari assured us the video was also dropping tomorrow night. While we wait, listen to the snippet and check out some of her latest teasers below!
