The 30 Best Videos Of 2018
From 'APESHIT' to 'thank u, next,' here are our 30 favorite videos of 2018.

Ariana Grande has snatched our wigs so many times in recent months that it is impossible to keep up. The 25-year-old moves from hit to hit with incredible ease. Since dropping “No Tears Left To Cry” last April, she has yet to have a miss. But the diva achieved a career best with the unveiling of “thank u, next” and its accompanying video. The record-shattering breakup anthem soared to the top of the Billboard Hot 100 and stayed there for seven nonconsecutive weeks. And it is possible that she’ll nab another #1 with her new single “7 Rings.” The heavily teased bop arrived today (January 18), and it is one of the brightest gems in this week’s New Music Friday. Inspired by a trip to Tiffany’s where she bought six of her closest friends engagement rings, the track is an ode to friendship, resilience and female empowerment.

Oh yeah, it also borrows from Julie Andrews’ “My Favorite Things.” Say it with me now – iconic. “Been through some bad shit, I should be a sad bitch. Who woulda thought it’d turn me into a savage,” the “God Is A Woman” hitmaker asks over trap beats. Later she directly references the rings and their significance. “Wearing a ring, but ain’t gon’ be no ‘Mrs.’ Buy matching diamonds for six of my bitches. I’d rather spoil all my friends with my riches.” Said rings (and plenty more jewels) make an appearance in the glamorous video. The pink-hued release features an all-female cast, chic looks and a surprise cameo from her dog, Toulouse. The bop also serves as the third taste of her forthcoming LP – her second in less than a year. The album, tentatively titled Thank U, Next, includes the previously released title track and “imagine.”

This is sure to net Ari another smash. At this point it’s just a guessing game of how high up the Hot 100 it will soar. While we wait to find out, check out the video and listen to the track below.
