Billie Eilish Announces Debut LP
Billie's debut LP is called 'When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?' (out March 29).

Billie Eilish further cements her status as one of the most captivating artists on the scene with every new release. The insanely talented 17-year-old is on track to be the next Big Thing in pop. And she continues laying the groundwork with the unveiling of “Bury A Friend.” The lead single to her debut LP When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? arrived today (January 30), and it is perfectly on trend with the devilish album cover. Another collaboration with brother Finneas O’Connell, it is a haunting anthem. “What do you want from me? Why don’t you run from me,” she chants on the chorus. “Why aren’t you scared of me? Why do you care for me? When we all fall asleep, where do we go?

The message gets even more pointed later in the song. “Bury the hatchet or bury your friend right now,” she warns. The accompanying video also arrived today, and it is suitably nightmarish. In it, Billie becomes a black-eyed demon. She gushed with pride about the release in an interview with Zane Lowe for Beats 1. “I worked really hard on this video. I went into the studio, we worked for nine hours straight without any breaks,” she explained. “It was like a one day shoot, and it looks like we spent a week making this video, but it’s literally one day. It’s crazy.” She also shared some details about the album. In particular, it will likely be comprised of 14 tracks and includes no features.

“The whole album is basically supposed to be a bad dream, or a good dream. Every song is either unbelievably horrible, or … there’s just so many … dreams are just so weird to me bro.” The project will highlight Billie’s creative range with each song being described as different from the last. The “lovely” siren also confirmed the release date: March 29. While we wait for the day to come, check out her latest masterpiece below!
