It’s Coming! Normani & 6LACK Will Release A Video For “Waves”
It goes without saying that Normani is poised for massive success in 2019. Since teaming up with Khalid on “Love Lies” last year, the 22-year-old has been on a very impressive hot streak. The duo broke into the Top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 and hit the top spot on Top 40 radio with the slinky anthem. She’s poised to replicate that success with her Sam Smith collab “Dancing With A Stranger.” The single amassed more than 97 million Spotify streams and rapidly broke into the Top 40 on the Hot 100. A must-see video will likely help it soar even higher. And it looks like she may have another song rocketing up the chart soon: Her 6LACK collab “Waves.”
The duo partnered up on the song last November but haven’t had much time to promote it. That changes this week with the unveiling of an official video. Over the weekend, Normani hopped on social media to share two teasers from the forthcoming release. Both appear to be set in space and feature some gravity-defying effects. It looks like a blockbuster is on the way, and we’ll know if it lives up to our high expectations when it drops tomorrow at noon ET. Hopefully the pair are able to line up a promotional performance or two in the coming weeks as well. “Waves” has plenty of potential, and it could easily become the rising star’s third Top 40 hit with just a little love.
