Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, and Meghan Trainor is celebrating in serious style. Last Friday (February 8), the 25-year-old got us in the mood for the holiday by unveiling her The Love Train EP. With the exception of last year’s shimmery bop “All The Ways,” the rest of the tracklist is comprised of all-new material. And every song is a loved-up anthem. One of the clear highlights is emotional ballad “After You.” Over a lush instrumentation, it sees the pop princess struggling to imagine a future without her beloved husband Daryl Sabara by her side. “Please don’t go and leave me alone,” she implores. “Don’t wanna give my heart to someone new. Won’t be anybody after you. And even if one day our time is through, won’t be anybody after you.”

Gorgeously composed and featuring some of her best vocals, it could easily soundtrack weddings for years to come. And toady (February 12), the song becomes all the more powerful with the unveiling of an accompanying visual. Directed by Charm La’Donna, the black-and-white release stars Kaycee Rice and choreographer Sean Lew. In it, they bring the lyrics to life with an emotional routine. Effortlessly capturing the strength of their relationship via dance, the duo adds another level of depth to the ballad. And it’s only a taste of what is coming this week. Meghan has plans to roll out a video for each song off the EP in celebration of the holiday. She opened up about what is coming in an exclusive statement.

“These songs all mean so much to me so we put some visuals together for each track,” she explained. “Charm’s direction for ‘After You’ had me in tears on the first draft. I hope this song and video inspires everyone to appreciate all forms of love in their life: family, friends, and soulmates.” Charm also shared a statement that offered some insight into working on the shoot. “When I heard Meghan’s new EP, I immediately fell in love with the song ‘After You.’ I was so excited when Meghan asked me to create a video for it, and my vision was clear from the jump,” she said.

“I wanted to use Kaycee Rice and Sean Lew, not only for their incredible dancing ability, but I knew they would tell the story perfectly. Sean’s choreography really brought my vision to life and I’m really happy with how it turned out.” We’re excited to partner with Meghan to premiere the video. Check it out below!
