Bebe's 'Expectations': Review

It’s no longer up for debate. Bebe Rexha has the Midas Touch when it comes to writing perfect pop songs with real emotion and relatable lyrics. Take “Last Hurrah.” The Grammy-robbed diva (“Meant To Be” deserved) returns to New Music Friday with an instantly catchy banger about making better choices. “Farewell tequila, so long margarita,” she sings in an early verse. “And lady sativa, I hate to leave ya.” But before turning her life around, Bebe is going to give into temptation… one last time.

“This is my last hurrah, once I start I ain’t gonna stop ’til I go too far,” the pop star admits on the defiant chorus. “Last hurrah and it’s okay, maybe tomorrow I won’t feel this pain.” Anyone with a self-destructive streak or knack for making bad decisions will feel every word. Produced by Andrew Wells, “Last Hurrah” is Bebe’s first new sing since dropping Expectations in early 2018. While it’s unclear if this is a stand-alone single or the introduction to her sophomore LP, it’s immediately apparent that she has another smash on her hands. Listen below.
