Jasmine Thompson unveils the dreamy video for major label debut single, 'Adore.'

Jasmine Thompson has been churning out hits since she was 13 years old. After building a following by posting covers on YouTube, her big break came when German producer Robin Schulz invited her to sing on “Sun Goes Down.” The club anthem turned out to be a worldwide hit — a feat she repeated the following year by lending her voice to Felix Jaehn’s update of “Ain’t Nobody (Loves Me Better).” A major label deal with an inevitability at that point and the Brit promptly signed with Atlantic Records. Since then, she has released two EPs and is now gearing up for a third.

Produced by Eg White, “Loyal” is the lead single from Jasmine’s Colour EP (due March 29). The soulful anthem was inspired by real-life relationship woes. “We didn’t trust each other,” the talented teenager reveals, “and as it turned out, we both had good reason. Also, he owes me £600.” However, she’s wise enough to compartmentalize the good times. “I’m still loyal to the person I met at the beginning, who made me really excited and gave me butterflies.” She captures this duality perfectly in the song.

“Fires die, I’m still loyal to you,” Jasmine sings on the bridge. “Fires dies, but I’m loyal to what was.” I love this more mature, soulful sound for the “Adore” singer. Hopefully, this is the breakout solo hit she has been working towards. Watch the oddball, (kind of) choreography-based video below.
