Jesse Saint John takes another step toward solo stardom every time he drops a new song. Last year, the 29-year-old stepped into the spotlight after helping craft hits for the likes of Britney Spears (Glory highlight “Love Me Down”), Camila Cabello (“Something’s Gotta Give”), Charli XCX (“Secret (Shh)”) and Kim Petras (“Close Your Eyes”). He kicked things into motion with a burst of energy on his vivacious debut single “MOVE.” What followed has been an impressive string of songs including “FAKE IT” and “WHAT DO U LIKE.” Today (February 20), he’s back at it with his latest: “WISER.” And this is one of his best yet.

An introspective bop, it sees him considering the passing of time and addresses the (very relatable) fear of becoming stagnant as he grows up. “What if I’m not getting any wiser? I’m only getting older. What if I’m not getting any stronger? I’m only getting colder,” he intones on the chorus. The release offers another hint at what to expect off his debut EP, don’t stop dancing. life gets sad. He opened up about the project on Instagram last year. “The overall theme of my new EP ‘don’t stop dancing. life gets sad.’ is the ways that we distract ourselves from lingering pain & sadness to get through our everyday lives,” he wrote. “It’s fun dance music but I hope we FEEL something too.”

With each new release, it is abundantly clear that the EP will be a must-listen when it arrives. In the meantime, press play on “WISER” below!
