Bea Miller Teams Up With 6LACK For New Single “it’s not u it’s me”
Update: “it’s not u it’s me” dropped tonight (February 28) and it’s a stone-cold bop. Listen below.
Bea Miller returns to the pop scene on Friday (March 1) with a new single called “it’s not u it’s me.” The first taste of the 20-year-old’s third LP features Atlanta rapper 6LACK and promises to be something of a reinvention. First of all, the “Fire N Gold” hitmaker is barely recognizable with her long, pink locks and a rap feature is a bold move for an artist signed to Disney. Not that Bea is any stranger to pushing the boundaries. After all, she released a song called “S.L.U.T.” in 2018. (It stands for “Sweet Little Unforgettable Thing”).
The rising star, who got her big break as a 13-year-old on season two of X Factor, has been moving towards a more mature sound for a while now. 2018’s underrated Aurora LP contained bops co-written with heavy-hitters like Julia Michaels, Justin Tranter, Oak, Jesse Shatkin and Ido Zmishlany. She also lent her gravelly vocals to NOTD’s “I Wanna Know” and landed a worldwide hit. (The track has amassed more than 150 million streams on Spotify alone).
