The 100 Best Singles Of 2018
From 'Lost Without You' to 'Honey,' we rank the 100 best singles of 2018.

Freya Ridings broke big in the UK last year with an emotions-destroying ballad called “Lost Without You.” The independently-released single took a while to find an audience but, thanks to a canny sync and radio support, it eventually peaked at number 9 — selling more than 600,000 copies. That’s the kind of DIY success story that catches the attention of major labels and the 24-year-old soon landed a deal with Capitol Records in the US. Today (March 1), they release the rising star’s debut EP.

You Mean The World To Me is comprised of “Lost Without You,” previously released singles “Blackout” and “Ultraviolet,” and a live favorite called “Wishbone.” However, it’s the title track that demands your full attention. “You Mean The World To Me” is being rolled out as Freya’s next single, and it’s a wise choice. Already a staple of her live shows, the exquisite ballad is a testament to her vocal range and ability to convey complex emotions in song lyrics.

The video for “You Mean The World To Me” also arrived this morning and it’s a suitably emotional affair directed by Game Of Thrones actress Lena Heady. Her co-star on the show, Maisie Williams, plays the protagonist the the clip. Watch it below and expect to feel feelings. You can download Freya’s debut EP here.
