We chat with the breakout star about his 'Narrated For You' mixtape and tour plans.

AJ Mitchell is a prime example of the new breed of pop stars that arrive with an already-established following. The 17-year-old started posting covers on Instagram and then graduated to YouTube. When his audience started to grow, the budding star (originally from Bellville, Illinois) moved to Los Angeles and started getting serious. He now has a major label deal with Epic and a viral hit under his belt courtesy of 2018’s “Used To Be.” AJ now follows it up with another song destined to deliver big streaming numbers.

“All My Friends” isn’t the carefree bop you would expect from a teenager. Instead, it’s a largely acoustic tune about being hung up on someone and unable to move on. “All my friends are falling in love, all my friends are locking it up,” AJ sings on the chorus. “But I can’t seem to settle down ’cause I’m waiting on you to come around.” Boys with feelings are having a moment right now (Lauv, Dean Lewis, Alec Benjamin, Lewis Capaldi and Shawn Mendes, to name but a few). It sounds like it won’t be too long until this guy is in the mix too. Watch the video below.
