Hozier Returns With Long-Anticipated Sophomore LP ‘Wasteland, Baby!’
Hozier, better known to friends and family as Andrew Hozier-Byrne, is back! Friday (March 1), the Irish singer-songwriter unleashed his highly anticipated sophomore album Wasteland, Baby!. Comprised of 14 songs, the LP includes previously released singles “Movement,” “Almost (Sweet Magic)” and “Dinner & Diatribes.” It also features a pair of songs off last year’s Nina Cried Power EP. The EP’s striking title track opens the new project, meanwhile “Shrike” reappears later on the tracklist. The 28-year-old opened up about dropping the album in a shared statement earlier this year. “The album has been over a year in the making, and it’s a pleasure to finally turn out my pockets and share the work,” he said.
The “Take Me To Church” hitmaker also shared his appreciation for all of his supporters with a heartfelt message. “I want to sincerely thank fans and listeners for their continued support in between the records.” That’s not all, though. Hozier is set to embark on an international tour. He kicks things off with a set in Buffalo, New York Sunday March 10. From there, he’ll travel across North America, making stops in most major cities along the way. In April, he’ll travel to Australia and New Zealand, and then he’ll be back in North America for another leg of shows through June with more international dates scheduled throughout the year.
