Sabrina Carpenter Establishes Her Independence On New Single “Pushing 20”

Sabrina Carpenter is one of pop’s most consistent rising stars. Singular Act 1 ranked as one of my favorite projects of 2018 and overflowed with bops and bangers (the slinky “Paris” comes highly recommended). All things considered, she’s poised to soar to new heights this year. And, believe it or not, the mega-talented pop princess isn’t even 20 yet. However, the 19-year-old celebrates the landmark birthday this May. And she’s marking the nearing occasion with the release of her new single “Pushing 20.” Written with assistance from Warren “Oak” Felder and Paul Phamous, the self-assured bop is all about establishing her independence.

“I’m pushing 20, got no time for others,” she confidently asserts. “Who aren’t on the same wave, yeah, on the same page. Trying to tell me what to be, yeah, tell me what to think.” Featuring a fierce production, it offers up yet more evidence of Sabrina’s serious potential. Hopefully, it serves as the first taste of Singular Act 2. We’re still waiting for confirmation; however, the sequel to Part 1 is rumored to drop early in 2019. Meanwhile, the “Almost Love” hitmaker is currently traveling North America on a headlining tour. Perhaps lucky fans in the audience will get teasers of even more new music moving forward. In the meantime, press play on “Pushing 20” below and get ticket info here!
