Another Smash: Khalid Unveils His Multi-Colored “Talk” Video
Everything Khalid touches turns to gold. The 21-year-old’s debut album, American Teen, blew up courtesy of hits like “Location” and “Young, Dumb & Broke,” and he kept the momentum going with a series of high-profile collaborations. (“Lovely” with Billie Eilish and “Love Lies” with Normani, to name but two). At the tail end of 2018, the breakout star launched his sophomore era with “Better” and landed another top 20 smash. Next up was “Talk,” a silky smooth bop produced by Disclosure.
The track is already top 50 on the Billboard Hot 100 and will, no doubt, climb a lot higher with the arrival of a fresh, multi-colored visual. There isn’t a narrative to speak of, this is all about playing with different color schemes (there are red, pink, blue and yellow boxes) to convey the emotion of the song. Khalid looks like he’s having a great time and serves some seriously fresh looks. His sophomore LP, Free Spirit, drops April 5. Watch up top.
