Premiere: Ivy Adara Has The Last Laugh In Her “Callgirl” Video
Don’t get it twisted! Ivy Adara’s catchy new single, “Callgirl,” isn’t an ode to sex workers. Instead, it’s an empowering anthem about standing your ground and cutting negative influences from your life. “When someone treats you badly for long enough, it becomes easy to believe that’s how you deserve to be treated,” the Aussie pop star explains. “I wrote this song when I realized it’s okay to let the phone ring out on those who only call to see what they can take from you.”
“There’s a strength in not letting people use you, and there’s a strength in not becoming the negative things people tell us we are,” she continues. Produced by Jean Sebastian and Jon Hume, “Callgirl” is the latest single from Ivy’s excellent debut EP, Intraduction. After writing bops for other artists (Maggie Lindemann’s “Obsessed” and Cheat Codes & Kim Petras’ “Feeling Of Falling,” for starters), the 24-year-old is now generating serious buzz with her own music.
