Young Bombs Have A Hit On Their Hands With “Starry Eyes”

After carving out a niche as pop’s go-to remixers (the Canadian duo has overhauled tracks from the likes of Troye Sivan, Bastille and The Chainsmokers), Young Bombs has finally decided to unleash an original. And they make one hell of a good first impression with “Starry Eyes.” A heady mix of spitfire synths and driving percussion, the ’80s-tinged banger is cool enough for clubs and pop-centric enough for top 40 radio. A lot of that has to do with with explosive chorus, which sounds like a choir of chipmunks.

Young Bombs also pulls off something of a coup by figuring out how to make an interesting lyric video. The guys serve looks (see the sexy promo pic above) including cowboy chic and what appear to be outfits rescued from Hall & Oates’ wardrobe. “Starry Eyes” is the duo’s first release since signing to Astralwerks. “Partnering with the right label is very important to us, and we couldn’t have found a better home,” they say in the presser. “Since their re-launch, they’ve been putting out the freshest music from artists we respect and aren’t afraid of taking risks.”
