UPDATE: The “Sally Walker” video arrived, and it more than lives up to expectations. Check out it out below.

Independence is looking very good on Iggy Azalea. Last year the 28-year-old announced plans to exit a deal with Island Records to work as an independent artist. Today (March 15), we’re getting the first taste of what she’s been up to since then with the release of “Sally Walker.” And it is very clear that she made the right choice. The lead single to her forthcoming album (tentatively titled In My Defense) arrived without any delays or drama. Even better, it is a serious banger. Produced by J. White, the track features a club-ready beat in line with last year’s Survive The Summer EP.

It also puts a fresh spin on the much-loved kiddie anthem “Little Sally Walker.” Of course, there is a sexy twist. “Little Sally Walker, walkin’ down the street. She didn’t know what to do, so she jumped in front of me,” the “Kream” rapper chants before offering some advice. “I said go on girl, do your thang.” Both twerkable and hummable, it is one of Iggy’s most instant tracks to date. Hopefully radio falls in lines and offers support, because the hitmaker is coming for blood and deserves to be rewarded for the move.

Keep an eye peeled for the official video, which is shaping up to be a must-see. Based on the cover (which sees the rap goddess posing on a supersized hearse), it looks like we’re getting a funeral-themed extravaganza. Iggy backed that up with a short teaser earlier the week. In it, the fabulously dressed diva dances in a graveyard. She also serves a fresh face of makeup courtesy of beauty guru James Charles. Keep an eye on this post. We’ll update it once the video arrives. In the meantime, give the track a spin below.
