Ariana Grande is gearing up to send our wigs into orbit once again. The 25-year-old is without a doubt one of music’s most prodigious artists. In the last year we’ve gotten two (chart-topping) albums, a multitude of singles and several collaborations. Unsurprisingly, that hard work is really paying off. In that same amount of time, the pop princess amassed two number one singles on the Billboard Hot 100. This week marked her seventh nonconsecutive week on top of the chart with her “My Favorite Things”-sampling banger “7 rings.” And it looks likely she’ll reign supreme yet another week. How is she planning on celebrating the achievement? By dropping yet another new song of course!

The Thank U, Next diva and her friend and frequent collaborator Victoria Monét hopped on Twitter to tease a duet rumored to be titled “Monopoly.” Yesterday (March 27), Ari shared a very ambitious release schedule. “Man, let’s drop it tomorrow night,” she tweeted. “seven rings is ab to be number one for eight weeks and the album might go back to no. 1 too…. we need to celebrate tbh ! life too short and too sweet rn.” Victoria was quick to voice her support of the plan. “You ain’t neva lied and this moment waaay too special!! Let’s dooo it!” However, a little later she proposed pushing the date back to this coming Monday (April 1) to link up with Billboard’s latest chart update. That date appears to serve dual purposes.

As it stands, the track appears to need a bit more work still. “word it’s also like …. not mastered or ready or delivered lmaooo,” Ari replied. “see, this is why i can’t go on twitter anymore. i get too excited and say shit i shouldn’t. however, monday is soon enough !” After a bit more back and forth, it appears that Monday stuck as the official release date. Check out their tweets below and start getting ready for yet another bop.
