No One Is Safe When The Beyhive Strikes. Here Are The Victims Of Their Attacks

Burtland Dixon | April 2, 2019 8:17 pm

Imagine being protected by millions of people that you've never met in your life. Pretend that any negativity or anything that seems detrimental aimed towards you and your loved ones will immediately get checked by these people you've never met. The only connection you have to these unknown figures is that they highly enjoy you and your art. This is life for Beyoncé. Anything that comes in her direction that might seem remotely uncalled for, the "Beyhive" attacks. Beyoncé's loyal fan following has stung many over the years, some deserved, and some who were just caught in their crossfire, so try and keep up.

At the Dolby Theater on the night of March 30, 2019, Omari Hardwick was in attendance for the 2019 NAACP Image Awards. The Power actor received an award for Outstanding Actor in a Drama Series. Beyoncé and Jay-Z were also there and Hardwick gave them both their own greeting.

After posing for a picture with Jay-Z, he stepped over to give Bey a friendly hug that quickly became an uncomfortable kiss right near the corner of Beyoncé's lip. She was visibly flustered after the interaction. One Beyhive member tweeted, "Beyoncé looked extremely uncomfortable. Omari Hardwick [might] have just got the new season of Power canceled messing around with the Beyhive."

Kid Rock Didn't See Bey's Talent

Beyoncé can do it all when it comes to entertainment. She might not do them all the best, but she's generally pretty great. We hadn't really heard of anyone questioning her talent level until Kid Rock took his shot. He dispensed some pretty heavy words, too.

Rock said he was "flabbergasted" at her amount of success. "Beyoncé, to me, doesn't have a [expletive] 'Purple Rain,' but she's the biggest thing on Earth,” he said. In return, the Beyhive sent him a massive amount of bee emojis on his Instagram. He had to post a can of Raid as a means to help stop the attack.

The Beyhive Wanted A Different Winner

You likely remember when Kanye West interrupted Taylor Swift for winning at the VMAs. In 2015, he almost did the same thing to Beck at the 2015 Grammy's after winning Album of the Year. Instead, he just walked away calmly. That's okay because the Beyhive picked up his slack.

The hive was extremely upset, so they changed Beck's Wikipedia page, calling him a thief that stole Bey's Album of the Year. This dispute came thanks to Bey's release of her double album Beyoncé. One disc was audio and the other was music videos for each song.

Naturally, every celebrity or anyone who has a slither of fame isn't as popular as Beyoncé. While there are a few, they aren't the people who tend to bring controversy to the queen. Piers Morgan dug his own grave after his comments about Bey.

Morgan said he prefers the "less inflammatory, agitating" side of Lemonade-era Beyoncé. Ouch, those are some words that you wouldn't want to say to any women. As a result, a member of the Beyhive tweeted she felt, "uncomfortable about Piers Morgan using Beyoncé to boost his strugglebus journalist career."

You would have thought by 2016 people wouldn't even test the Beyhive, but then Rachel Roy shook up the nest. The fashion designer posted a photo on Instagram the night Bey released her Lemonade album with a caption that might have alluded to herself being the one Jay-Z cheated with. "Good hair don't care," Roy wrote.

The hive posted bee and lemon emojis on her page for weeks and even went to her teenage daughter's page to do the same, ouch. Some days later, Roy came forth with a statement saying her post was "meant to be fun and lighthearted."

The Beyhive is so intense they don't care who the target is or if they have the correct culprit. When Rachel Roy was getting heat for her action, some of the queen's worker bees went over to bash Ray in her comments as well.

The chef told US Weekly that Roy said she was sorry for the confusion by sending her some nice flowers. Ray sent her back "a big bottle of wine and a straw," she said.

Even Rihanna Isn't Safe

Beyoncé isn't the only artist with a gigantic fan following. Rihanna also has the "Rihanna Navy" under her belt, but even they weren't enough to help prevent a Beyhive attack. After Rihanna liked a tweet that made fun of Bey's chart performance for the song "Formation" against Rih's song "Work" the hive took flight.

"After canceling tour dates, reducing tickets to $10 and selling less than 250k albums WW (worldwide) the LEAST Rihanna can get is a #1 single." That was a message from the loyal Beyhive.

Back in 2017, the Beyhive proved that even giant media companies aren't safe from their wrath. TMZ sent out a tweet that made Bey's fans erupt. Jay-z was flying to California to catch the Warriors and the Cavaliers, but he left a pregnant Beyoncé at home.

That's when TMZ decided to call her a "baby machine." That was a bad move. One Twitter account with the name Beyoncé Hub tweeted out "How dare you musty, Dusty, crusty [expletive]-poor excuse for journalists refer to Beyoncé as a 'Baby machine'." That one kind of sound personal.

The "Bully" Gets Bullied

Wendy Williams has a loose reputation of being a bully on her talk show. We aren't saying she is or isn't, but that's part of the allure she has built around her own media empire. Perhaps that's why she said "jokingly" that Beyoncé "sounds like she has a fifth-grade education." She then compared the Beyhive to bullies.

These were all terrible mistakes. "A woman who is known for throwing shade on even a pitch black day says someone else should address a bully," a Hive member wrote, calling Williams nothing more than a hypocrite.

Nick Cannon is a multi-talented entertainer just like Bey, except not on the same level. The actor, rapper, and sometimes comedian shared a joke back when he was still with Mariah Carey that the Beyhive didn't really like.

"How dare my wife sing at our beautiful wedding and didn't lip sync like Beyoncé did at the Inauguration," Cannon said. As you can imagine, the Hive stung and stung so hard that they ended up attacking Carey as well.

"I actually met Jay-Z in person," Tamera Mowry revealed. "He wasn't with Beyoncé at the time, and I wasn’t dating anybody. When I met him, you do get, like, hit with the charm. I actually was attracted to him in the moment," she added.

That last comment is really what messed things up for the twin sister. Even though she admitted that neither of them was in a relationship at the time, the Beyhive still swarmed her Instagram comments with the thousands of Bee emojis. User flyboyfu commented, "You've done rumbled up the [bee emoji] hive."

The Hive Gets Kim

There have been many instances of an alleged "rift" between Bey and Kim Kardashian. How many of them are something, we don't know. However, there is that one time when Kardashian tried to pay homage to Queen Bey by posting a photo with some of her lyrics.

The Beyhive wasn't fond of this at all. They called her a "wannabe" and accused her of copying Beyoncé's style. They even went as far as to start a petition to prevent Bey from going to the wedding of Kanye West and Kim Kardashian.

Raven-Symone might be the only one on this list aware of the mighty Beyhive. In an attempt to prevent the Hive from attacking by acknowledging their power, the opposite ended up happening and the results were rude.

"All the Beyhives will be coming for me, but I miss Beyoncé singing a ballad in a dress," Symoné said after Bey released her "Formation" video. The Beyhive met that comment with one of their own: "Raven-Symoné prefers the old Beyoncé just like how we prefer the old Raven-Symoné that we use for all of those memes."

Once upon a time, not too long ago, Ciara posted a photo of herself working on the set for one of her music videos. Her fans commented on the picture saying that Beyoncé looked like Ciara in the "Partition" video.

Once the Beyhive got wind of Ciara's fans calling their queen a copycat, they didn't hold back. Ciara go dragged through the mud and none of the Beyhivers even cared that she was pregnant at the time.

The Beyhive never ceases to amaze. They walk a fine line of petty and protective and in this case, we aren't sure what to consider it. Jay-Z's record company Roc Nation throws an annual brunch called the Roc Nation Brunch. The biggest stars come and in 2019, Lori Harvey was a target.

Harvey posted numerous photos and clips from the event, including one where she's seen laughing and talking with Jay-Z for an extended period of time. The Hive accused her of trying to charm the rapper and swarmed. One comment in her photos read, "Let this be the first and last time we hear of you and a Carter family member in the same vicinity."

The Beyhive doesn't discriminate, people. If there is even the slightest concern that someone or something is trying to bring any ounce of detriment to Bey, they go and attack. After Beyoncé announced her athleisure clothing line Ivy Park, Lululemon had a condescending comment.

"Maybe Beyonce is so Crazy In Love with our brand, she made her own." Well, the fans were not too happy with this. "In what world does Ivy Park look like your basic [expletive] overpriced yoga pants? Get over yourselves," one Beyhiver said.

Back when Amber Rose was with her ex-husband Wiz Khalifa, she thought very highly of him and the pair as a couple. When you're in a happy relationship, why wouldn't you want to be compared to the billion-dollar couple of Bey and Jay-Z?

Early in 2014, Rose compared her marriage with Khalifa to that of the Carters. Almost immediately the Beyhive came down and brought the pain to Ms. Rose. As it turns out, their marriage wasn't anything like Bey and Jay's.

We feel like by 2014, celebrities had all figured out not to comment poorly on anyone associated with Beyoncé or the queen herself. Up and coming personality and Chris Brown's ex Karrueche Tran made the sad mistake of making a joke about Blue Ivy while co-hosting a show.

"I really did wake up like this because my parents never comb my hair," Tran said. There was a time when people would make fun of Blue's hair because it was natural. The Beyhive responded with: "At least Blue Ivy's hair is more relevant than Karrueche."

If you know anything about Azealia Banks its likely thanks to her outlandish social media tactics. She goes on rants about the most current trending topics and gives the most hellacious opinions. Her comments on the Lemonade album struck a cord. "This heartbroken black female narrative you keep trying to push is the Antithesis of what feminism is," the rapper tweeted.

While everyone can take that for what it is, the Beyhive certainly didn't stand by and let it go without a slap on the wrist. "Bye Becky with the fake hair," a defender promptly replied.

It looks like a lot of celebrities felt some kind of way about that Lemonade album. The one centered around Jay-Z cheating on Bey. The phrase "Becky with the good hair" is supposed to stand for the woman Jay supposedly cheated with.

After Lemonade released, Rita Ora posted a picture in a bra wearing a "J" necklace. In order to stay safe from the hive, Ora wore a "Not Becky" pin to the 2016 Met Gala afterparty.
