Things are looking very good for Kacey Musgraves right now. The 30-year-old crested a wave of forward momentum after winning big at the Grammys. That night she took home awards in all four categories she was nominated for including Album Of The Year. The resulting sales boost sent her album Golden Hour back into the Top 10 on the Billboard 200. Meanwhile, she has a budding hit on her hands with the LP’s latest single “Rainbow.” And today (April 3), the hitmaker returns with a gorgeous shoot for Variety magazine. Posing for James White, she serves a very glam look on one of five covers for the publication’s Power Of Women issue.

In an accompanying interview the “High Horse” diva reflected on how she stays grounded following her big wins. “One of my ultimate fears is being one of those cliché people in the industry that loses touch with who they are, what makes them happy, and real parts of life,” she explained. Instead, she surrounds herself with a good group of people. She also shared some insight into the success she’s finding with “Rainbow.” The optimistic ballad went Top 20 on Billboard’s Hot Country chart and became her first to appear on the Hot 100 since 2013’s signature “Find Your Arrow.” Kacey had some thoughts about why it’s been seeing support at radio.

“It’s funny that it’s that song, of all the songs off the album, that is catching wind there. But it makes sense, because that song doesn’t sound country to me necessarily, but it doesn’t sound pop either.” And it looks like the Golden Hour era isn’t done yet. Kacey teased a new video for “Oh, What A World.” But new music is already in the works, too. In fact, she mentioned one song that could help birth a new album of material. Though she kept quiet on the sonic direction, she did tease a lengthy list of dream collaborators.

“There are a lot of people that I want to write with, going into this new album. I would love to write with the Tame Impala guy, Kevin Parker. Sufjan Stevens would be amazing. I was thinking this morning about the Shins; I would love to collab with them.” Sounds promising.
