Anitta & Becky G’s ‘Kisses’ Duet “Banana” Is A Cheeky Banger

Today (April 5) is the day! After weeks of teasing, Brazilian pop goddess Anitta dropped her audiovisual album Kisses. And she really delivered. The 10-track collection includes collaborations with the likes of Swae Lee (“Poquito”), Snoop Dogg (“Onda diferente”), Alesso (“Get To Know Me”), Prince Royce (“Rosa”) and more. We’re still diving into the veritable feast of bangers and their accompanying music videos. As soon as possible, we promise to reflect on more of them. But we wanted to start with the Solo diva’s Becky G collab “Banana.” Confirmed over the weekend, the final product is every bit as iconic as we’d expected.

After linking up on a remix of Maluma’s “Mala Mia” last year, we already know the hitmakers had perfect chemistry. But their latest takes it to the next level. Over a searing production they drop some cheeky lines in Spanish and English. “You got the chocolate. That yum, yum. Come gimme some,” Anitta commands on the chorus. “I got a sweet tooth for love, baby gimme some.” Becky’s contributions are equally sassy. And the accompanying video is a very impressive work of art. In it, they sit on a supersized banana and hit up a fruit stand to peruse their options. Later, the tantalizing divas recline in a sea of the yellow fruit.

Vibrant and playful, it is practically guaranteed to rack up some serious views on YouTube. If things go according to plan, I’d say Anitta and Becky landed on their latest viral video. Hopefully that will reflect on the charts as well. Give it a view below.
