We do not deserve Becky G. The 22-year-old is without a doubt one of the most prolific musicians on the scene right now. And she has the Midas Touch when it comes to genre-blending anthems with serious hit potential. In the last few weeks, she’s delivered several. Most recently, the hitmaker linked up with Anitta on the rip-roaring “Banana.” Its accompanying video (a literal work of art) is a mega-viral delight. In just over a week, it amassed more than 15 million views on YouTube. But it’s hardly the diva’s only single. Today (April 12) she shifts her focus back to last month’s “Green Light Go.”

The hip-hop leaning banger offers yet another taste of what to expect from a forthcoming English-language album. It also boasts a powerful message. “‘Green Light Go’ to me represents not taking no for an answer, making my own path and giving myself my own green lights,” the “Sin Pijama” icon explained in a press release. “I am a proud Mexican-American, concrete rose, born and raised in the streets of LA. ‘I’m on my Green light go.'” And it gets a promotional boost with the unveiling of a sleek music video. Directed by Eif Rivera, it was shot in Becky’s hometown Inglewood, California.

In it, Becky looks very chic in a green crop-top and white bucket hat. Strutting down the street with a crew in tow, she is clearly calling all the shots. Oh yeah, she also delivers some truly impressive choreographed dance routines. With any luck, this will be her latest viral win and will give “Green Light Go” a boost up the charts.
