Ava Max Slays “Sweet But Psycho” On ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’

“Sweet But Psycho” is the hit that just won’t quit. With more than 488 million Spotify streams, the single already propelled breakout star Ava Max to the number one spot on charts across the globe. In the UK alone, it reigned supreme for 8 weeks. And months after its initial release, it is still climbing the charts in America. This week, the powerful banger reached a new peak on the Billboard Hot 100 at number 19. And it is likely to continue its ascent as it gains radio support every week. Not only that, but it now benefits from a new promotional performance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

Yesterday (April 11), the 25-year-old impressed the audience with a high-energy set on the show. Dressed in all black and sporting her signature high-low haircut, she was joined by a crew of dancers. Serving strong vocals, she belted out the enduring bop with gusto. With “Sweet But Psycho” sitting just outside the Top 10 on US iTunes, it looks like the performance really paid off. It will be interesting to see if it was enough to send the track even higher on the Hot 100 next week. Once it finally reaches its US peak, Ava is likely to turn her attention fully to her equally catchy follow-up single “So Am I.”
