Lizzo has a lot to celebrate with the release of Cuz I Love You. Her major-label debut LP arrived Friday (April 19) to rave reviews. Comprised of 11 tracks, it houses anthems including the rollicking lead single “Juice” and her ferocious and body positive Missy Elliott collab “Tempo.” And that just scratches the surface. The rest of the collection empowers and boasts equally fierce productions and compelling vocals. “Like A Girl” is a serious banger that celebrates girl power, while the soulful title track is a riveting and unexpected love song. Another must-hear is the sensual closer “Lingerie.” It’s seriously too hot to handle.

The 30-year-old opened up about the project in an interview with Ebro Darden for Beats 1. Aside from alluding to the possibility of another collaboration with Missy, she also shared some insight into the collection’s title. Chiefly, she revealed that she almost named the LP Peach in homage to her ass (iconic legends only) but had a change of heart. “I looked up and I had all these new songs and I was like it’s just not that anymore,” she explained. “It’s more than that and I was listening to the album and I was like, ‘Wow’ you know I really went through all this because I love myself and I’ve been talking about self love since Big Grrrl Small World.”

So the new title made more sense for where she was at the time. And that’s just the start of things. Over the weekend, Lizzo delivered a second set for Week 2 of Coachella, and more performances are on the way. Today (April 22), she kicks off the first leg of her sold-out Cuz I Love You Tour with a show in San Francisco. And she announced plans to extend the tour with a second leg starting in July and running through October. Called Cuz I Love You Too, it brings the diva to even more major cities. All things considered, it looks like the “Boys” star will be very busy for the rest of the year.
