Madonna & Maluma's 'Medellín' Video
The Queen of Pop's blockbuster 'Medellín' video is a rousing act of rebellion.

It is shaping up to be quite a week for Madonna fans. The Queen of Pop stole the show at the Billboard Music Awards with a spectacular performance that seamlessly blended singing, dancing and augmented reality. The extensive use of motion capture technology was a first for US TV and reportedly cost $5 million to pull off. It was an investment that is already paying dividends. “Medellín” is gathering momentum on iTunes and streaming services, and the performance trended on social media. Ever a controversial queen, the 60-year-old also threw a little shade in a post-show Instagram video.

“No expense has been spared at the American Billboard Music Awards… where I will be honored for nothing, as usual,” she lamented while laying on the floor. (Points were made). Madonna then wandered around back stage and hooked up with K-Pop Kings BTS for a happy snap. But wait, there’s more! The living legend will drop a new song called “I Rise” at midnight tonight. The song is described as “an empowering and anthemic ballad,” and is the first of four buzz tracks that will be released in the coming weeks.

The Mike Dean-produced “Crave” featuring Swae Lee drops on May 10, while “Future” featuring Quavo (described as having a “Jamaican dancehall vibe”) arrives on May 17. The last buzz track is “Dark Ballet” on June 7. Make sure you catch up on all things Madonna below.
