Carlie Hanson has big plans for the rest of the year. The 18-year-old kicked things into motion last week with the release of her new single “Back In My Arms.” Unsurprisingly the loved-up anthem is yet another win for the rising star. She shared some insight into how it all came together in a press release. “‘Back In My Arms’ is a song about my first romantic relationship with a girl,” she explained. “I wrote it about the feeling of intoxication and infatuation during a new relationship.” That makes the just-released video all the more unexpected. Instead of focusing on a romantic relationship, the visual highlights the love of a family.

In it, Carlie and her younger sisters pull off the ultimate heist to help save her dad from a difficult situation. The end result depicts just how far you’ll go to take care of your family. In this case, that entails throwing a dead cat at an armored truck to effectively rob it. Pretty iconic if you ask me. But that’s not all. Today (May 3), Carlie also confirmed the impending release of her debut EP. Called Junk, the collection arrives June 7. Not only that, but it is already available for pre-order here. Considering the strength of previous singles such as last year’s “Numb,” it goes without saying that the release is one of our most anticipated to arrive next month.
