Update: This post now includes the official video for “Falling Like The Stars.” Grab some tissues and press play below.

James Arthur is really showing off his versatility in 2019. Earlier this year, the Brit teamed up with Martin Jensen on “Nobody.” The electro-kissed club cut features an addictive break and sing-along chorus. But today (May 10) he returns to lush balladry with the unveiling of “Falling Like The Stars.” And the song may have what it takes to replicate the success of “Say You Won’t Let Go.” Released in 2016, his comeback single topped the charts in the UK, hit number 11 on the Billboard Hot 100 and amassed more than 1.1 billion Spotify streams, so that’s lofty praise. But his latest is just that good.

Another tender love song, this one sees the 31-year-old dreaming of a future family with his beloved. “I swear to God, I can see four kids and no sleep. We’ll have one on each knee, you and me,” he croons. Even after all that, his devotion will remain just as strong. “When they’ve grown up, you’re still the girl in the club when I held your hair up,” he vows. Everything revolves around the chorus: “And I’m not scared to say those words. With you I’m safe. We’re falling like the stars, we’re falling in love.” There’s a refined beauty to the track, and James’ velvety voice sounds absolutely divine over the gentle production.

With any luck, this will get the respect it deserves on the charts. Even better, hopefully it means that we’ll be getting news about James’ third studio album in the near future. In the meantime, give the single a listen below.
