Meghan Trainor’s “Badass Woman” Is A Girl Power Anthem

Meghan Trainor sweetens this week’s New Music Friday with the unveiling of “Badass Woman.” Landing in Anne Hathaway and Rebel Wilson’s upcoming comedy The Hustle, the song is every bit as fierce as the title suggests. Co-produced by Andrew Wells, the self-penned track features an empowering message. “Never second guess me, cause, baby, I’m the boss,” the hitmaker proclaims. “Don’t underestimate me, cause I’m the one in charge.” And her self-confidence continues to skyrocket. “I’m a force of nature that you can’t ignore,” she vows before moving into the chorus.

“I’m a badass woman. What’s wrong with that? Can’t hold me back.” The shimmery anthem follows this year’s The Love Train EP, which featured no shortage of mega-romantic bops. And it looks like Meghan has plans to drop more music in the very near future. During a red carpet interview with ET she teased the imminent arrival of a single tentatively titled “Funk.” That should land on her forthcoming third studio album. Hopefully the LP follows closely behind. Based on that timeline, it is safe to say the diva will have us dancing for the rest of the year.

In the meantime, press play on “Badass Woman” below.
